A Healthy Environment

Massage therapy does not diagnose illness or disease and that the massage therapist does not provide any medical treatments or pharmaceuticals, nor are spinal manipulations part of massage therapy. Understand that massage therapy is not a substitute for medical examination or medical care, and that it is recommended that you are concurrently working with your primary caregiver for any condition that you may have. During your initial appointment, please state all known physical conditions, allergies, medical conditions and medications and keep the massage therapist updated on any changes.

Zero Tolerance

All services provided at Unwind Massage and Stretch are strictly therapeutic and non-sexual in nature. Any act of sexual or other forms of harassment is not tolerated. Unwind Massage and Stretch reserve the right to refuse service to anyone or end a session immediately if the therapist feels threatened or compromised, or if any of the conditions herein are compromised; with no refund, 100% forfeiture of prepaid service. Inappropriate solicitation will result in you being permanently banned and reported to the Kalamazoo Police Department, and civil legal action.

Cancellation Policy

At Unwind Massage and Stretch, we value your time and the time of our therapists. To keep our schedule running smoothly and ensure availability for all clients, we follow the cancellation guidelines below:

Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance will receive a full refund.
Late cancellations (under 24 hours) and no‑shows will be charged 50% of the booked service, with the remaining 50% refunded to the client. This policy helps us honor our therapists’ time and offer openings to other clients who may be waiting.

By booking an appointment, you acknowledge and agree to this cancellation policy. We appreciate your understanding and support in keeping our schedule fair and organized.

Client Waiver & Informed Consent

By booking any service through Unwind Massage and Stretch—including but not limited to massage therapy, cupping, assisted stretching, hot stone massage therapy, sound therapy, and other wellness services—you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Assumption of Risk

You understand that massage therapy, assisted stretching, bodywork, and wellness services involve physical activity that carries inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to, muscle soreness, bruising, physical discomfort, aggravation of pre‑existing conditions, or injury.

You acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating in these services and assume full responsibility for any physical, mental, or emotional harm that may occur. You agree to communicate all relevant medical conditions, injuries, limitations, or concerns to your therapist prior to each session.

2. Waiver and Release of Liability

In consideration for receiving services at Unwind Massage and Stretch, you release, waive, and discharge the facility, its owner(s), employees, independent contractors, affiliates, and agents from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, injury, illness, or damages (including death) sustained by you or your property, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, while participating in any service or activity.

3. Medical Representation

You represent that you are physically and mentally able to participate in massage therapy, assisted stretching, and other wellness services. You understand that these services are not substitutes for medical care or diagnosis, and that your therapist is not qualified to diagnose medical conditions or provide medical advice.

You confirm that you have disclosed all relevant health information and agree to consult your medical provider when necessary.

4. Rules and Regulations

By receiving services at Unwind Massage and Stretch, you agree to follow the facility’s policies, including:

Arriving on time for all appointments
Practicing proper hygiene
Providing at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling
Treating staff, clients, and the facility with respect
Wearing appropriate attire for therapy or stretching services
Following all guidance and instructions from your therapist

The facility reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time for failure to follow these rules or for any inappropriate, unsafe, or disruptive behavior.

5. Acknowledgment

By booking an appointment, you acknowledge that you have read and fully understand this Waiver and Release Agreement, and you agree to all terms and conditions. Booking constitutes a binding agreement between you and Unwind Massage and Stretch. This agreement applies to all current and future services booked at this facility.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not book a service.
